If you live in Park Ex, Mile End, or Outremont - or anywhere in Montreal - please join me this weekend for a very exciting event. Friends of Hutchison, my neighbourhood group, is collaborating with Concordia University's SenseLab on a wonderful project they created called the "Three Mile Meal" to encourage people to explore where their food comes from and to promote the idea of eating, producing and shopping local. More information is here:

The drinks bike - look at that tubing! http://senselab.ca/wp2/upcoming-events-three-mile-meal/
The amazing SenseLab students have created three built up bikes (cleverly and amusingly called "Lack of Information Booths") that will circulate between Park Ex, Outremont and Mile End. Each bike will share food from that neighbourhood: spices (Park Ex), tea and coffee (Mile End) and kosher goodies (Outremont). There will be balloons and "seed bombs" for the kids (little clay balls with seeds inside, to throw it onto earth and with the rain it'll grow flowers) etc. The idea is to have people come up and 'share' their lack of information, get people talking to each other. The bikes will be circulating between locations, introducing people to their neighbour communities. It takes place this weekend, Friday/Saturday/Sunday from 2-5 in the afternoon.
Please come by and say hi!
Looking forward to seeing you,
Mindy
